More about these designs:
The Blue Door
Our family home was a 1750's cape with an old blue door. It had handmade iron hinges and handles. The glass above was old. Such atmosphere! Quiet. A door is a picture of a threshold, entrance to a new world, time of change. This card is a good choice for passages like graduations or death.
Circle of Hearts
This card is an all time healing and love card! Great for a wedding or anniversary or get well! The hearts are arranged like a circle of people and ivy twists between like a dance. The ivy is a symbol of a healing plant. This card is often sent representing a group.
The Blue Teapot
My mother taught me to love teapots and the ritual of tea. What is better than a tea time visit with friends? I love the homey red checkered table cloth and branches of forsythia. A great invitation or thank you card. Or, a cup of tea via the mail!
Pussywillows
Tender mood of pink and pussywillows. Softness and simplicity. I learned later that the pussywillow is a symbol for resurrection. This card is wonderful for a new baby, a tender message to a friend, a sympathy card.
When All the Trees are in Flower
Ah! Sweet Spring! Apple blossom time is a glorious time in the cycle of the year. Like ancient asian art of the pink and white blossom, here is a mood magical and happy! Love, weddings, spring birthdays, graduations...
Race Point
This card was inspired by an unforgettable trip to Race Point at the tip of Cape Cod that I took as a 12 year old with my father. Land, surrounded by sea, by sky, dunes, freedom on the sail boats. This card is versatile. I think good for couples, for graduates, also deaths, anytime where one "sets sails free!"
Sunflowers
Every year I marvel at Sunflowers. All beautiful: small, big bellied, full seeds. The golden mood. This card has many uses, very versatile. Everyone loves sunflowers!
Apple Picking
The symbol of the tree of life is old and steady. I spent much of my childhood climbing a certain apple tree and swinging in it. I cherish those memories and every year I go apple picking. A ritual I will not miss.
Pumpkin
Pumpkins are pure joy! Orange, round, waiting for doorsteps or to be carved into a jack o'lantern or made into a pie. The circle and vine are cheerful and cry out "HARVEST!" Be glad!
Autumn Leaves
A confession is due here...
I think this is my favorite card. I love the maple tree and glorious colors in the fall. I can hardly bare the bittersweet beauty of the leaves drifting down. Here the potato print has an exquisite gesture. The craft becomes and art.
One Shines for Many
Back to simplicity. Pink and white are a recipe for tenderness and purity. The 12 sheet delight me with a simple star above. I consider it holy. A card used for births, deaths, holidays, and for sheep lovers/knitters year round.
